There are a lot of stories out there about autistic people, mentally ill people, and disabled people...but very little of it is written from OUR point of view. We always hear from our parents and exes how unmanageable we are, how toxic, how annoying. They smirk over our oddities and delight in laying our private lives bare in a way that shows what martyrs they are for having to put up with us.

There are very few romances about us, and even fewer that show the depth and joy of our relationships.

These are true stories of our happily-ever-afters, of our loving families, of our complex friendships. These are windows into the difficulties we face trying to connect with others, express our feelings. This is our chance to tell these stories from OUR point of view-as the ones who are different, who don't know how to act "right", who do things that people see as odd and annoying.

If you want to contribute to this anthology, please contact me at elizabethroderick [at] att [dot] net. We accept narrative nonfiction, essays, poetry, graphic novels...anything that shows our relationships from OUR point of view.

I will I think be doing this as a series of different stories, so that each person can do more than one chapter if they like, and keep adding to it if they like. I think that will make it easier to read than making each person's piece a different chapter.

So, this first book will be my own story.

Hi. I'm Jas, and in case you didn't know, I am autistic. I have Asperger's Syndrome. I'm writing this book just so I can jot some of my thoughts down, and so you can see what it's really like to be autistic, well, for me at least. My best friend made a good comparison just the other day, no two fingerprints are the same, just like no two autistics are the same. I hope you'll enjoy this "diary" and no, I will not put too much about my personal life in here unless you deserve to know about something big happening to me. The other juicy deets are for a real diary. However, there will be sneak peeks to some of the stories I am writing within the confines of this so-called diary. I will also be offering random bits of advice from time to time, and you will get to meet some of my developing characters/ocs that will be featured in my future works. Warning 1: My characters and ocs are still in development, so they might come off as Mary-Sueish, and I don't want my characters to be annoying Mary Sues, so feel free to give feedback and/or constructive critisism on them: it would be a big help if you did because your advice would speed up their development and bring you the stories I am writing much faster than it would working on this on my own. Warning 2: This will have a mature rating because I am a huge potty mouth and I have depression so there'll probably be a lot of swearing and angst. Update: I have level 2 autism, as people do not use the term Asperger's Syndrome anymore, but the term Asperger's Syndrome is what I grew up hearing, so that's what I'm going to use.

( Book Two of the Love Series | I don't recommend as a standalone, but can be read as one. I tried my best to provide information that was missed from the other book.) A phrase like 'I love you' is something people don't mean. They don't put their heart into that statement. They don't say it with promise. The looseness in the meaning those four letters held made my heart doubt their commitment. You can love your mom. Love your best friend. Love the way a hot shower feels after a long day. Love a man who cheats on you. So yeah, go ahead and say you love me...See how far that gets you. ~~ Knox's eyes raised to meet mine, "Tell me what you want from me." I breathed heavily as my mind clouded with pleasure. Leaning up a little, I motioned for him to come closer. He obliged as I wrapped an arm around his neck, pressing my forehead to his. He was about to kiss me again, but I gave a soft tug to the side causing him to fall to the bed. A rush of air left him as he lay flat on his back now. Taking advantage of the shock that delayed his response, I tossed my leg over his waist as I settled myself on top of him. Knox sat up a little on his elbows, letting out a groan as I shifted my hips over his. "I want," I leaned down, smiling in satisfaction as he allowed me to press him further into the bed, "For you to sit back and let me use you to get myself off." I was inches from his ear now, "Would you let me do that?" Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a smirk making its way onto his face. Knox raised his hips slightly pulling another moan from me, "Use me for whatever you desire, sweetheart." Sealing it with a kiss to my neck. ~~ Unedited Version. Jailed, abandoned by family and friends, and fired from his job, Chase walks through life looking for the next bad thing to happen. But then he meets the Caelans. They look like and act like us, but they are not from this planet. They've lived here for years, posing as people of Earth, hiding in plain sight by using a mental ability called 'psy' to influence us-purely for the purpose of maintaining their secret identity. They have always been completely and utterly peaceful. Their planet had conquered and eradicated anger long ago. Something has suddenly changed, however, within the Caelan people here on Earth. After more than 50 years of peace, anger has infected some of them-like a sickness-forcing all 939 to be quarantined here. And when they meet Chase, they discover something even more disturbing-their psy does not work on him. His immunity to their power presents a serious security risk. On the surface, there doesn't seem to be anything special about him-other than having ADHD. Could this unusual condition be responsible for such a serious breach of Caelan security? Join Chase on the adventure of his life as he makes wondrous discoveries, improbable friends, terrifying enemies, finds unexpected love, and begins to believe in himself-for the first time in his life.
