Camden Shire was orphaned when she was five. She was born with a strange marking on her face which is the main cause for her grief and isolation in her small little town.

Turns out - by the time she's fourteen, people are actually afraid of her. Not disgusted like she thought. She discovers her mark is meant to be a curse from God and anyone who associates with her will also be curse.

Which is a really funny thing since she's always so nice to everyone.
The streets are no place for a growing young girl. But that's exacly where she is and somehow - dispite the fact that she was looking for honest work - she gets swept away in a resistance on the wrong side.

Running into a colorful bunch of kids, she finds herself falling into what everyone from where she come's from had said was the wrong cause.
But maybe - maybe everyone was just misunderstanding everyone else.
Sort of like people misunderstood her.
