"What's your name?" He asked, the sudden noise startling me in the once quiet room.

"Galadriel." I said sternly but quietly with no emotion, trying to hide the evident hesitation i had of speaking to him.

I assumed he noticed my hesitance, since he said nothing else.

I didn't want to speak to him, I wanted so badly for it to be as if he wasn't even there, I hoped he'd be gone in a couple of days, Off back to war, but i knew it could take weeks for some of the soldiers to heal and regain their strength, It made me think back to their arrival hours ago and the bloody and injured men that lingered in the crowd of the other soldiers, which reassured my previous thoughts.

 The realization hit me heavy.

Id have to provide for him, cater to him and help him regain his strength.

"Id have to live with this man." I whispered aggressively to myself almost forgetting he was just across the room.

I scrunched my fist together hoping he didn't hear me or ask me to repeat what i said.

He said nothing once more.

I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment as i unsteadily walked over to boil the last of the water i had for rice.

Abrupt footsteps came from behind me getting closer and closer causing me to fasten my eyes shut and my hands to tremble, almost spilling water on my silk gown in the process.

I quickly opened my eyes and let out a much needed dramatic breath once i realized he left.

"God" I whispered, sighing in relief.

I would be lying if i said i didn't wish he wouldn't come back.

But i knew he'd be here a while.

I fell in love with Hansel seven years ago. I fell in love with a side of him that was sweet, caring, persistent and loving. He taught me what it felt like to be human, what it meant to love someone with all your being. And then he came: Klaus. He's declared war three years earlier than we predicted and it's forced Hansel and I to do the one thing we promised not to do: separate. We both joined the GUARDIANS in order to help, but in a desperate attempt to find where Klaus will open his portal and begin the war, Hansel gave up the one thing that was most precious to him: his memories of us. I promised him I would never give up on him, that I will help him remember. But that is coming out to be harder than I thought. The Hansel before me was an utter asshole. He was arrogant, pigheaded and sexist. He hates me for reasons unknown to me but I can't help but still love him. But it hurts to see the vacant look in his eyes. I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. ...there is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable. " Kharis, why don't you just tell me how you feel because how you act is confusing me. " I said fed up with the uncertainty of our situation. " Is there something here or am I just making a fool of myself?" I scoffed. Having said that out loud, a cloud of embarrassment built over me. Of course there was nothing between us, he wasn't capable of looking at me as anything other than an intruder to his perfect little family. He just needed a shoulder to cry on and a heart to play games with and like the fool I am, I served it up to him on a silver platter. This was nothing but a way for him to deal with the whole Kalen situation. I was just a distraction. He remained completely silent and that was a good enough answer for me. I should have crushed this stupid crush years ago. I should have never let him get this close. " Okay, " I said softly. " I get it, I was just a distraction, a way to deal with what's happening." I had to fight real hard to fight back the tears that were just begging to be let free. He doesn't deserve them, no one does!. " I should have known! " I said feeling like an utter fool. I attempted to push past him but before I could he stepped in front of me and looked me dead in the eyes. Shit, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned Kalen. He kept his eye contact as he slowly got to his knees. He's eyes were watery at this point and the guilt of mentioning Kalen was beginning to eat me up. Shit, shit! " I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." I said getting to my knees as well. " I don't know how you've been able to over look all the shit I put you through over the years." He said with such a low tone, i don't think he was talking to me. He immediately looked away probably ashamed of himself. " I'm blackened at the heart by all the pain I caused you, so don't apologize I'm only getting what I deserve.

Mate I slowly looked up to see shocked ocean blue eyes staring intently at me. I grimaced because my mate had to be the player, my soon-to-be Alpha, Selden Woods. He scowled, pulling his hands away, making my heart sink deep into my chest. My fists clenched involuntarily. He smirked and gave me a once over. I knew what was going to come out of his mouth. "I, Selden Woods, reject you, Alessa Sartori, as my mate." Just as I was about to respond, the pack slut, Darla, came in and wrapped her slimy hands around him. I gave them a disgusted look, which the slut smirked at. Selden looked hurt but immediately recovered with his famous smirk. I gave him a disappointed look, focusing my attention on my water. I finished drinking it, squeezed the bottle and threw it in the sink. I was just about to make my way to my room when Darla pushed me, but I barely stumbled. I turned to face her. "What, bitch?" she snarled. I started shaking, losing control of my body. I slammed her against the counter roughly. She whimpered, then snarled. She pushed me, making me fall back and hit my head painfully against the counter. I got up and completely lost it. I lunged at her, pushing her down to the ground. I began to punch her repeatedly, hearing the cracking of her nose. She was screaming, but it was faint. I felt someone pull me back, feeling sparks. I turned to find Selden gripping my arms, keeping me in place. I glared at him, hatred consuming my being. I pulled away from him roughly. He looked hurt, but I was far from caring. "Go on and play nurse with your slut," I spat, pushing past him and making my way to my room.

I blinked. My eyes began focusing on shapes. I could hear murmuring voices. I could smell medication. I could taste blood. I could feel scratchy blankets lying over my frail body. Three humans, talking under their breaths. A blue cast on my leg. Another on my arm. Stitches in my other 'leg'. More stitches on my face neck and chest. A huge stapled gash across my entire stomach, starting from my shoulder and going in a diagonal line straight across my body and ending at my hip bone. It had just avoided my heart. Tubes were threaded through my arms and other areas of my stomach. I was suddenly very aware of the amount of pain I was in. I cried out in pain and all three people turned to me. The middle one lurched forwards and took a needle from the side. The other two fussed around me, rethreading the tubes and checking that they were all fully functional. A sharp, aching pain pierced my neck and I caught the middle guy with a needle in my neck. My vision slowly began blurring again.
