Chapter One of my book 'The Chase': 

Eddie is woken one night by a strangling sense of fear. He awakes to find that his nightmares are longer the tormentors of his slumber, but have materialised before him. Something has chosen him, and that being wants his attention. Before the nightmare stops, Eddie learns a terrible truth. He is not the only one was has been selected.
