Jedediah, on a school trip to complete his World Heritage assignment, goes to a heritage site known as the Itsukushima Shrine, a place of worship for one of the famous gods in Japan, Susano'o.

But he soon learns of an aberration that occurs in the area, and apparently he's the only person that can rectify the situation. He must defy all traditions, don a red hakama and white haori when they were clearly meant for girls to begin with, and dance like a shrine maiden in a kagura ritual to appease the gods.

Will he succeed? Or will the wrath of Susano'o destroy the natives on the island?

A tale of Jedediah Johnson, Madelinn Chanell and the mysterious shrine girl.
