After ten years of being held captive, she is finally rescued and decides to start a fresh, new life.
She finishes school and goes through college, gets a job, eventually marries and buys a house. But when she has children of her own, she struggles with her tragic past, feeling that she has to protect them through everything that they do.
Will her protective care become controlling and overbearing for her children as they grow or will they understand why she's like it?

Upon waking up to a three week coma, Katrina was moved to a local orphanage called Little Treasures. There she met two of her orphan roommates, Billy and Sophie, and her caregiver Rosa. Out of the three people, none of them she would call a friend. Her only friend is her stuff teddy bear named Mabel. One day, before the bus arrived to pick up the orphans for school, a report was released telling the citizens of Gotham that another kidnapping and school shooting has occurred. This was the fourth school shooting and kidnapping to take place that month, and still none of the kidnapped children have been found.
