Survivors of World War II never in a million years expected to witness the beginning of the third World War in their lifetime. Although, if I've learned anything since WWIII was initiated, it's that your expectations of the world can be obliterated in the blink of an eye.

This story is an AU Harry Styles fanfic based on the novel Summer of my German Soldier by Bette Greene. The plot is similar but amped up, characters are different as far as backstory and age, the story is set in present day during a WWIII, and the relationship is romantic rather than platonic.
-I also drew inspiration for the setting from the film "How I Live Now" which is also set during a World War Three.
