Olivia Venus Nelson is a puzzle to all. She's a 17 year old sophomore with straight A's, 3 college classes, and is part of the debate team. She's also been suspended 4 times for fighting, and has to do community service for hitting a teacher in the eye with a rubber band. If you saw her late at night on the streets, chances are, you'd walk on the other end of the road. But if you struck up a conversation with her at the library, you'd think she's a total sweetheart. Is Olivia (Venus, or Nes to a select few) fake, or just a painting of her own design? Most would spring for the first, and she would let them, not caring of the opinions of anyone around her. Mr. Dreckler was Nes's 7th year history teacher, and pretty good friend... as good as a teacher can get. So when Nes comes to his class on an especially shitty morning, he notices that something is off, and is determined to find out what no matter how long it may take. Will he crack the code to the mystery of her personality? Or maybe she'll spin a lie that's believable enough to cover the truth from even the most observant eye and they'll go their separate ways after a cone of icecream and an exchange of memories. It looks like its all up to her.
Ella is falling apart trying to live a "perfect" high school life. Then she meets Ren, who can see past her scars. Suddenly perfection isn't her only option.
