When you are infected with the virus, there are four stages. 1) Your fever will shoot up and everything will become intensified on a maximum level. You'll lose grip on what's reality and what's illusion. 2) You'll start to slowly fall down the rabbit hole, forgetting the past and everything and everyone that you knew. 3) You face your imminent death. 4) You wake up with a pressing hunger for the living. It's been seven months since the pandemic hit with this virus and the world has been ravaged and left to ruins. Society has crumbled to nothing and more than three fourths of the population have been infected with the mysterious virus that took the world by storm. The virus has turned anyone infected into crazed flesh-eating freaks, with decrepit skin and red puffy eyes. The only way to kill them is by obliterating the brain. Elise Alice Gordon, Lease for short, led a simple life until the virus hit. Seven months later she is just barely scraping by. She's done what she's had to do to survive, and in that process she has created demons that haunt her every time she closes her eyes. See, it hasn't been easy trying to live in a dead world. She's lost friends, family, and everything she's ever known. The only thing she hasn't lost is her humanity and her hope. But she's afraid she's starting to. "The difficulties lay not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping old ones" Technology had been playing its most important in the human lifestyle in this modern world. Everywhere we go every man on Earth, would have various gadgets around them. The world is now borderless. Everyone can communicate with anyone no matter where they are. There aren't any more boundaries between societies. Other than that, with the presence of the Internet man, could seek various kinds of information from multiple websites; be it useful or harmful. Death had not been any man's fear. Even though it is a fact that every man would pass to the afterlife when the time had come, they do not fear the consequences they had to bear later. Some mistakes weren't well observed as not everyone was gifted with good observation and understanding skills. Due to that, some man was blind by revenge. Hatred and revenge burnt in their heart and soul forgetting that the law is still being upheld. Letters and notes were old ways to express someone's feelings. With the new technology, many had decided to move on, using e-mails and social media to express what they feel. Having a note in a home compound might be exciting for anyone but not Addison Lore. Those notes were sent to her without fail for fourteen continuous days. Even a red ruby ring. Will she be able to escape the fate she was about to face? Or would she succumb to her unknown fate leading her to nothing but death itself? (JustWriteIt 2017)

After moving out of her hometown, Brianna finds within her father's belongings a black leather covered book that will give her a tour into a place she never imagined she would visit. A few words of reading after and after playing the daredevil on a challenge written within the old pages. The girl will realize that books are truly gateways to different worlds, but, into which one she jumped in? Too late she finds out that in order to get back to her normal life she has to keep on reading that gruesome book and soon she stands walkin through a stone path covered with a red carpet of blood.
