Zeref casted a powerful curse on Natsu. The curse is to make Natsu suffer inside his body silently as he slowly dies. Upon expiriencing it, Natsu endured it for so long that he became so weak. The others tried their best and supported him while they went to find a cure out of it. But the only choice is to incarnate him and send him to the other world where magic is not strong enough to be casted.
