Once humans, now deadly creatures - the infected - roam the blaze, hunting down anything which makes noise.
Arya Song has lost her father to the infected, and her brother is lost. Arya thinks that her brothers sudden disappearance is linked to their fathers death so she sets out to find him.
She soon realises that not all is as it seems...

A Country Life

A watcher keeps lonely vigil from within a fortress that has been under siege for hundreds of years, while a soldier dies for the twenty-third time, and dies again while wondering if he is going mad. First started in 2015, this story is at 50k+ words, but was removed when a plotting hiccup was encountered. I now intend to split it into three parts, and this is the complete Part 1.
