Afterall I died consumed in fire and was reborn as the twin sister to Mai in the world where people control and manipulate elements. Which element did I get? Didn't the name Mai seem any familiar? Prince Zuko's former girlfriend and one of Azula's former henchmen? Laugh it up I was reborn as a firebender. Hello psychological trauma... PTSD meet firebending. Don't even get me started on my sister's future boyfriend or was it supposed to be ex?! Don't be so lovable dammit and stop looking at me with those puppy dog eyes blown wide! There is an old folklore about the Children of the Forest. They were mortal spirits who were the First Benders with the ability to travel freely to the spirit world and to the human realm. Each with their own element of air, water, earth and fire. They were one with their elemental animals and travelled the spirit and human realm freely. Fire Lord Azulon was one of the very few humans aware that this folklore was more than a mere legend, although slightly altered, but factual. He sought out dragons and in one of his searches he found a Child of the Forest with a Fire Element by sheer unfortunate luck and after defeating her, he imprisoned her. (Y/N) was seen as the key object of victory within the Fire Nation and a driving force of power to their legacy and supremacy but to Zuko she was not a weapon of mass destruction or a spirit creature; she was so much more.
