What inspired you to write One Promise?

You see, when I was young, life was tough. I grew up with a broken family. I never felt the love I wanted all my life. I've always love reading. That's when I found my new comfort through writing. Then I held on to it because it gave me hope. It gave me another way to ease my broken self cause I needed to. Just when I thought I already hit rock bottom with all these pain I felt ever since I was a kid, God must've still felt the need to push me more by leaving me with a monstrous dad but I saw how God changes him. So I wrote this story for my dad.

|| To be published under PSICOM || Shinessa knows that Helix is worth the fight―until she discovers that he's dying soon. *** For Shinessa Park, life at Kyll High had been a constant battle, mostly thanks to Dest Guatamyel, the boy who made it his mission to annoy her from day one. His teasing and relentless presence drove her crazy, and Shin was certain she'd never miss him. But when junior year came and Dest transferred schools without even saying goodbye, an unexpected emptiness settled in―a feeling she couldn't quite understand. Then Helix Guatamyel, Dest's older brother, transferred to Kyll High. Unlike his brother, Helix was kind, gentle, and a little mysterious, drawing Shin in despite her past with Dest. Their connection grew quickly, and Shin soon realized she was falling in love. But just as their romance started to bloom, Shin discovered the heartbreaking truth: Helix had cancer, and he was dying. Now faced with a difficult situation, can Shin overcome her worries and move forward with Helix by her side? Or will she choose to leave him behind and save herself from potential heartbreak? She Crossed That Bridge is a story of love and the risks we are willing to take in life, even in the midst of uncertainties. But what if the future that had been waiting for us on the other side, once we crossed that bridge, leads nowhere? Disclaimer: This story is written in Taglish. Status: Completed
