All That Glitters

Lucie Montes; the most beautiful, advantaged, and wealthy heiress in the famous coastal city of Boston, has a secret. She is an empath; an individual with the ability to sense the auras and emotions of the people around her. And even though she has perfect hair, perfect skin, and an engagement to an equally perfect young bachelor, it seems to Lucie that her life is merely a perfect illusion.
Milo Brooks, on the other hand; a shy, quirky private detective from London, is anything but perfect; you could ask anyone. Compassionate and smart, if not too entangled in his work, he tends to keep people at arm's length. But trying to run a PI agency with the police chief breathing down his neck is difficult. He needs an assistant, stat- not that he'd ever admit it.
The two meet by chance when an acquaintance of Lucie's is found dead at a high-profile charity event and Milo is called in to investigate. But when one homicide case turns into a string of murders all over Boston, Milo and Lucie find themselves tracking down a serial killer to solve a mystery that isn't quite what it seems.
