A loud bang emanates from the hallway downstairs. The sound of heavy boots colliding with the polished stairs echoes in the west wing. My eyes find their way to the grandfather clock in the corner of my room only to read "6:50". My room door is roughly pushed open, banging against the wall with a thud

"Did I not tell you to stop playing that crap!?"
He took only four steps to reach me. His voice getting louder and more slurred as he spoke. "YOU BIT-CHH YOU SHUD H-H-HAVE BEEN THE ONE! YOU SH-H-OULD HAVE DIED INSTEAD OF H--"
His rough calloused hands are brought to fists and collide with my face as I try to protect my head and curl into a ball only for him to continue.
Finally satisfied when bruises cover every inch of my body.
