/If you sleep, they can't get you/ Eight years ago, some scientists were ordered to tunnel to the centre of the earth. There they found a parasite- Leucochloridium Imperium-dormit. They never truly understood it, but they knew it had great potential. When the parasite escaped, the first thing it found was a small child, who didn't want to fall asleep because of the monster under the bed. The parasite only thought it was helping when it began to terrorise those who remained awake. Slowly, its influence grew to masses of sleepwalkers- the Stricken. It still believed it was helping. But, hand in hand with these half-awake monsters, came the generation of children who grew up terrified of falling asleep, and with a world of empty humans they were desperately trying to survive in. And this is the tale of how, eight years later after the Escape, children bound themselves together into a family, and how they tried to live in this world where they are terrified of sleeping for an uncertainty they will wake.

+ Co-written with Meteoritezr + First rule of living with the Flock? No names. Nothing real anyway. You don't survive with your humanity, you shed it, or it sheds you. Zombies were said to be impossible, that they'd never happen, well obviously whoever said that had underestimated human curiosity. It started with the melting of the Poles, which uncovered diseases that hadn't been seen in millennia. Obviously, when a flesh-eating parasitical virus was found, scientists in all their glory decided to study it, which led to the greatest calamity in human history. Warning: This is the original book 1, it is now considered more of a prelude/building character relationships arc than a book. This provides backstory and sets the foundation for the characters and their relationships. The action starts in the new book 1 - Migration. - TW: Gore, Cursing, Death, etc. Not recommended for anyone who can't stomach gore or other zombie stuff or LGBTQ+. Homophobia will not be tolerated in any way, shape, or form -
