The Pheasant Amaryllis was taken away from her family in the poorest district of the South. Supposed to achieve a long and fulfilling life as an Oracle, it all came crashing down when the monarchy fell. Now she fights for a chance at the glory that was taken from her. The Heartless Evangeline grew up in an abusive household. Skilled with weapons and a knack for violence, Evangeline will kill anyone and everything that stands in her path. The Soldier A former member of the Royal Guard, Lauren loved her duty. But now there is no guard and no home for her to return to. Winning the trial is the only way for her to find honour. The Liar A thief, scammer, liar and runt like Warden shouldn't be left alive. But doing these things are the only ways to survive in the West, the kingdom the most destroyed. Winning the throne could solve all of the West's problems, if Warden could find the courage to do so. What happens when these young outcasts with failed pasts meet and develop a forbidden friendship?
