My gaze swept instantly to Jake. I found him leaned on Lucas' white SUV, he's already staring at me. He looked like he's been standing there all morning waiting for my bus to arrive while Lucas stood casually beside him, having blight conversation with Caitlyn who's looking up at him very much in love.

Other students walked around them, some outright gawked, others even shook their heads in disgust. But despite all the attention they were getting, Jake's attention were solely focused on me.

He stalked away from the SUV, no hesitation in his steps, the glare on his face told me he already made up his mind.

Mine!

Mine!

Mate!

Mine!

Mate!

The words came beating inside my head like an angry rhythm that quickly managed to make its way to my chest. Jake has the uncanny ability to make my stomach twist with so much butterflies.

"Grace." He breathed as soon as he reached me.

"Jake." My weak smile lifted the corner of my lips.

I was lost at how to respond to him. He's a boy who can't seem to determine what he wanted. I forced myself to retreat just in case he unleashed another one of his heart splitting rejection and to be honest, I'm not sure how am I going to take it.

"I'm sorry." He spoke sincerely.

I was taken by surprise by his sudden apology. I was certain it is going to be the other way around.

"I thought it would be safer." He paused. "I didn't want to drag you into my world. I thought it's better if you didn't know, but clearly that wasn't the case."

"It's been driving me crazy." I told him honestly.

He exhaled a long deep breath. I sensed the tightness in his chest, the agony and the regret. He's been losing his mind the whole time the same way as I have.

"I need to have you. It's driving me nuts!"

My entire body shook. The way his spoken words were so bold, so honest and so forward. He gave me no room to tell him no.

"Jake..."

He had me shut out. "Dad won't let her in the pack." "I know." "Are you sure she's human?" I rub my eyes again, they were really beginning to burn. "Yes, unless I've gone absolutely insane." I stopped rubbing my eyes for a moment. "Maybe I am crazy? I feel like it." Caden sighed, "That's the mate bond. The longer you go without, the worse you get." I knew that. I didn't like to think about it, but we all grew up hearing about it. Going crazy, your body shutting down. Wolves weren't meant to be separated from their Soulmates. It physically and mentally drained them until they just one day gave up. I never thought it would happen to me since it doesn't ever actually happen. We all knew better. Unfortunately my human mate did not. Caden watched me from where he sat, he knew what I was thinking, and was thinking the same himself. We didn't know how much time I had. "Well, I for one, as Alpha, would not mind a human in our midst if she is your mate." I let a small chuckle slip out and leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms. "Is it because you're so accepting of humans, or because you insist on having me as your Beta?" Caden smirked at me, "Does it matter?"

He once told me no one knows the real him.I didn't think he meant it, and not in a good way. He is a straight A student, and everyone knows it, not to mention he is on the swim team. All that though isn't the real him, the real him hides deep within himself. ---------- "Can you please tell me what that was?" I nearly shout at him. All I get is silence. He keeps his back to me. "Please, I need some explanation." I beg. I stay still as he stops dead in his tracks. His body is tense and it's scarring me. He turns around slowly to face me with his hands at his sides. His eyes meet mine, but there is no spark of any emotion in them. They are cold and dark making me look away not being able to hold his deadly stare. I feel uneasy under his gaze, and i feel his eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. "No, I won't explain because it's not important." He says in a low, almost, growl. I flinch and look back into his eyes. I feel hurt by his words and I don't know why, but I know he sees it in my eyes. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.

"Pierce, please I'm trying to study." I let out an aggravated sigh as my eyes flickered upward from the white-colored pages of my textbook. Pierce approached closer to me, sliding the textbook out from my lap and throwing it to the side. "Take a break." His voice demanded as he pressed his lips up to my neck, as he left soft kisses on my skin. I threw my head back, closing my eyes shut as the stress in my body left. I had been studying non-stop for my upcoming chemistry test and I had to admit it'd be nice to have a break. "I really need to study-" I started but couldn't finish my sentence as Pierce pressed his lips to mine. I gave in to his kiss as his lips moved in sync with mine. He pushed me flat down on the bed as his body hovered over mine. His hands grabbing my hips as he scrunched up my clothes, pushing them up to reveal my skin. I placed my hands flat on his chest as his lips continued to move with mine. The kiss turning from soft to passionate within seconds. He grabbed my thigh, forcing my legs to wrap around his torso not breaking his lips away for a second. I moved my hands down to the body of his shirt, tugging on the end of them. "For fuck sakes," Pierce muttered as he broke away from me, his phone ringing. He pulled away from me, grabbing his phone off the nightstand only for me to get a glance that it had been Xander calling. He placed the phone up to his ear, rubbing his face in his hands. "What is it?" I asked in concern, watching Pierce's expression change from annoyance to worry as Xander spoke through the phone. I waited for Pierce to say something but he didn't before hanging up and grabbing my leather jacket off the chair that was nearby, throwing it over to me. "We need to go. NOW." Pierce stated, his voice demanding and cold as he reached for his keys and walked out of the apartment. I sat on the bed, clutching my jacket in my hands as I stared ahead at the ground, swallowing a lump in my throat. Can I just catch a break for once?

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

There were three men in the group, one instantly stood out to me even with his back toward me. He had deep black hair and I could tell strong lean muscles were hidden beneath his button-up shirt. I falter in my steps a bit, something in my mind telling me to go another way, to ask someone else for help with directions. But I keep walking closer. Something else within me tells me it will be okay. As I get closer, the two men who were facing my direction look towards me and I stop, keeping a safe distance. Hopefully they are able to help me, and not turn me away just because I'm a human. "Hi, um, could you tell me where the front desk is?" The man whose back was facing towards me stiffened. "I think I'm a little..." The man turned toward me so quickly it made my heartbeat waver. His deep blue eyes pierced into my brown ones and called out to me. His jawline was chiseled to perfection, lips parted slightly in awe. Every feature of his face was meticulously handcrafted by God. I never thought I could find a wolf so elegant. He was...beautiful. Something in the air shifted. I could feel it in my bones. "...lost," I finished my sentence after a brief pause. No one answered me. Did I say something wrong? "I'm sorry." He breathed between us, "Thank you for getting some sense into me. I don't know what I'd do without you India. You keep my head on right." "That's what friends are for." I smiled smally and he closed the distance between us, cupping my cheeks in his big hands, making me feel small and delicate. My heart rate picked up, my breathing stopped altogether as I held my breath, waiting for him to do something, to say something. "It's not just friends is it?" He whispered, his lips inches from mine. "All this time, I've tried so hard to fight it, to push you away, to block you out, but I can't. It's always been here, between us, and I told myself not to act on it, that you'd find your mate and you'd leave me, and it would have all been for nothing, but I can't do that anymore. I can't sit around and pretend that I'm not in love with you India. We find our mates any day now, and if it's not you, I'll understand, I know the chances are slim, but if I don't kiss you right now, I will regret it for the rest of my life." "If you do kiss me, and you find her, you'll regret it for the rest of your life." I whispered up at him, our breaths mixing in the air in front of us. He ignored me, his lips meeting mine so softly that I barely registered that they were there. I wrapped my arms around his torso then, pulling him closer to me as he deepened our kiss, his lips moving with mine like they'd been molded just for them. There were not cliche sparks, no sudden desire to fall into bed, no burning for him. This kiss was innocent, and the only one we would be bound to share. I didn't want it filled with regret. I wanted to cherish it, and I would, for the rest of my life. He pulled away slowly, resting his forehead against mine softly. "I'm not gonna say that I'm sorry, because i'm not." He breathed. I nodded, pulling myself into his arms as he wrapped his around me, resting his chin against my hair. "I love you India." He said softly. "I love you too Ty."

"And for your information I too had liked you perhaps a little too much." She looked away biting her lips in the process. "Unfortunately we both know where we both stand because by the end of the day you will always choose your mate above anything else." Instantly I grabbed her chin with my thumb and fore finger tilting her head up, back her up into the black board, pinning her against it. Inching herself closer I felt her soft wet tongue against my lips while I longed to kiss her. Seff was now panting urging me to take her. Damn wolf make up your mind already. "Mr. Travis." "Braydon." She looked at me confused, "It's Braydon." My voice hoarse. "Braydon, I want you." For a minute I thought I saw her eyes darkened with a tinge of colored lining around the iris but then again it must be the lust. "Please say you are mine." "I..." Fuck, it was like I was hypnotized but clearly I was aware of what I thought, I was aware of what I feel. "I want you." I whispered. Soon she crashed her lips on mine. Our tongue entangling each other. Both of us moaning as her lips trailed down the side of my neck kissing it. Her teeth grazing against my skin and I couldn't help but pressed a hand against the board, feeling her chest slamming against mine. Her teeth nipping on my skin slightly piercing it. I hadn't notice but soon tiny droplet of blood dribbled downwards only for her to lick it clean. My hands now cupping her breast as she continued to nip on my expose shoulders. All rational thought just went out the windows and I was no forming a nice tent in my pants, "Fuck Amy." My lips found hers again giving her a sloppy kiss. Holding her waist she jumped up for me to catch her, legs now firmly wrapped around my lips while I dry hump her at the same time. Until I heard a shriek of cry more like sheer pain. "What the fuck is going on?" Rachel pushed me away from Amy. I forgot she was here crap.
