I stepped in front of my standup mirror, per usual, to make sure I looked decent. I noticed a bruise on my collarbone, and exclaimed, "Oh no! How did I get that?" I lifted my shirt up, revealing a large gash on my stomach, but when I looked down, there was nothing there. "Oh, great, now I'm seeing things in the mirror." I rolled my eyes. "Astrid, you ready to go?" I heard Jackson call from downstairs. "Yep!" I grabbed my bag and ran out the door of my bedroom and down the stairs, where Jackson and Catelynn were waiting for me. What I didn't notice, though, was how my reflection in the mirror watched me go, hands pressed against the inside surface and eyes wide in a plea of help.

I wanted to surprise him so I didn't knock, but the one being surprised was me, and not in a nice way. Kellan yanked Jessica away from him and looked at me shocked. I pinned my lips together and took a deep breath to calm my nerves down, my hands shaking. I placed the tray on the long sofa next to the wall and grabbed the plate and orange juice. I walked toward Jessica and tossed her with the orange juice, leaving her gaping like a fish out of water as she blinked the orange from her lashes and wiped her face. "Danielle..." Kellan warned and I tiptoed as I turned the plate over, smudging the food in his hair as the continents fall down his shoulders and shirt. "Damn it Danielle!"
