40 years before Cinderella's story, her evil stepmother Cassandra, a young and beautiful seamstress, wishes to wed out of an impoverished town. Her sister happens to meet a mystical Fairy Godmother and wishes to go to a ball thrown at the palace with her sister accompanying her. There, Cassandra meets a handsome young foreigner and gets swept off her feet just like in the fairy tales. But the prince grows fond of her and she becomes trapped in a life she never wanted. After 10 years of marriage and 3 kids, Cassandra meets the Fairy Godmother that put her in her nightmare in the first place, and she is willing to grant Cassandra a wish that puts a terrifying and abhorrent spin on the original Disney Cinderella movies.
