Sometimes I think too much. Sometimes I feel too much. Sometimes I say too much. But sometimes I can't think. Sometimes I can't feel. Sometimes I can't speak. I don't know what I'm doing till I've done it. I don't know who I've hurt until they're gone. Things don't make sense anymore. 16 year old Peyton Hanna has been a patient in the Sinclair Psychiatry Unit since she was 13. Diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and suicidal tendencies, she's on lockup. Isolated from any normal outside experiences, she's determined to find a way out and venture into the world she can barely remember. When she finally escapes to what she thinks will be peace, she finds chaos. Until she meets Spencer, a boy she meets in an alleyway. Any simmer of joy, hope, and happiness seemed just like a dream, until they met. With the help of her trouble minded best friend Maxine, all she wants to do is explore. But the dangers are unexpected and betray beyond hurtful. Was Peyton only in the unit for what she felt? Or have they been keeping a secret from her? One that could cost her life that she has now found to finally have a purpose?

What would it feel like to wake up one day and find out your whole life was a dream? Peyton Comber has been in a coma for three years. But that's not the worst part: She lived an entire life inside of that coma. She was Olivia Wright: Amazing artist, class favorite, and valedictorian. But that was all just a trick of the coma. When she wakes up she discovers that her entire life as Olivia Wright was nothing more than a made up fantasy. Peyton can't figure out what's real and what's fake, she can't even tell who she is anymore. Was she the bubbly, fun-loving girl her parents tell her she was? Or the harsh, cold classmate Allie Baker says she was? And how does she feel about Steve Thompson, her boyfriend before the coma? Also what's the deal with Kevin, the nice guy that everyone seems to be afraid of? How did she even fall into the coma in the first place?
