Alex is a twelve year old kid who has lived his whole life in the split city of Alteronterrace. Split cities like Alteronterrace are separated into levels according to social standing. Split cities generally have ten to fifteen separate levels, and Alteronterrace is no exception. It is divided into thirteen levels, and depending on your social standing, life there can range from a perfect Utopia to a life worse than hell. In the upper levels of the city, crime is virtually non-existent, but the further down you go on the ladder of hierarchy, the worse things get. The bottom level is by far the worst of the thirteen. No matter the time of day, at ground level in Alteronterrace, there is no light. In addition, level one is the only level with direct access to Ground-Zero. Ground-Zero is a literal cesspool in all of the worst ways. It is not counted as a true level because its only inhabitants are criminals and those many unfortunates who do not have the money to pay the annual protection fee to the government. Ground-Zero is where the cities convicted criminals are sent. Thieves, murderers, and rapists are all inhabitants of Ground-Zero, and a single slip-up with the law could result in banishment to Ground-Zero. Alex lives on level one, and knows better than anyone the repercussions of crime. After losing his father to the pit, as it is called by anyone on level one, he is left to care for his younger brother and his alcoholic mother. But when a snitch rats him out to the Enforcers, he finds himself thrown into a punishment worse than death...

He survived that day due to one reason alone, a group of boys saving his life. But with Sofia around, he can wave peace goodbye because that girl drags chaos with her wherever she walks. Something...which seriously tests usually patient Marco's limitations--which coincidentally happen to be wearing thin. After three epidemics, fifteen wars and plenty of government disagreements, the world stopped numbering their years. The last recorded one was 2104. During that year, all hell broke loose. The continents started merging together, forming one giant landmass like they did when the dinosaurs were roaming around. All the countries disappeared and were replaced by sectors: Arctic, Ocean, Jungle, Desert, City, Cavern, Sky and Forest. In the very centre of the landmass, there is a small portion of land that is not claimed by any sector. That piece of land is home to one thing and one thing only. The Hollow. The Hollow is a small cottage, white-washed and red-roofed. It used to house criminals and now is occupied except for beasts that are caged in the Grotto, which is the name people have given to the basement of The Hollow. Now, since The Hollow is useless unless you need somewhere to store mythical legends, children are sent there on the seventeenth of each month to face tests to check if they are fit for living in this world. No child has ever lasted more than a few days. Until now. Eric Alastor is a thief who has no friends or family by the age of seventeen. Elisaveta Nebula is a girl who carries around knives to protect herself from the criminals crawling around her sector. Together, they will face The Hollow. Daring to walk alongside death every day, they develop a strong connection. Maybe it's just from the circumstances. Or could it have something to do with Eric's troubled past... Will they face their challenges with a smile on their face? Live to tell their story?

"Cool, lets go!" we jumped off his bed and ran towards his stairway, where he sat on his railing. "What are you doing?" I asked the crazy person. "Being cool," He jested just before he began to slide down his railing like a little kid. I just imagined him with a pair of shades covering his sea blue eyes, and pointing two finger shaped guns my way. Once he got to the bottom he jumped off to the side. "Your turn" He chirped to me. "Um..no I don't think so," "Come on! Don't be such a Debbie downer. I promise I will catch you," "This does not look safe" I pondered, moving slightly toward the railing. "It isn't," I widened my eyes. "Just do it, you will love it trust me," "Ugh, I think your crazy is rubbing off on me," I defeatedly stated. "Then you should be thanking me," That stupid smirk was back, and prominate through his handsome features. "And why is that," I asked quizzically. "Because crazy people live longer. Your welcome," I laughed harder than I should have to this before putting my butt on top of the railing and sliding down. In a dystopian future ruled by a corporate oligarchy, society lives under constant surveillance through smart devices controlled by The Algorhym, a powerful AI that monitors and manipulates every aspect of daily life. Joe Carpenter, a weary factory worker, tries to keep his fractured family safe while navigating the oppressive regime. His 17-year-old daughter, Maya, is defiant, openly criticizing the government, while his 15-year-old son, Elliot, begins to buy into its propaganda. When Maya's rebellious nature leads to her arrest, Joe is thrust into the underground rebellion. With the help of Lena, a determined rebel leader, Joe rescues Maya from the regime's clutches. However, their actions draw the regime's ire, forcing them into hiding. Elliot, consumed by fear and loyalty to the regime, betrays his family, only to realize too late the devastating consequences of his actions. As the family fractures, Joe and Maya become deeply involved in the rebellion, targeting key regime infrastructure in an effort to destabilize the government's control. Their most ambitious strike-the destruction of the AtlasCorp Tower, which houses the central servers of The Algorhym-cripples the regime's surveillance but comes at a great cost, including the loss of Lena and a brutal crackdown on the district. Haunted by guilt, Elliot seeks redemption by secretly feeding the rebellion critical intelligence. Though the family begins to reconcile, the cyclical nature of power and oppression becomes evident. Even as the rebellion gains ground, Joe sees new leaders rising, mirroring the same corruption and control they fought to overthrow.
