Older brothers. I have more than people could handle. I have 8 brothers. Well one is my twin, but surprise surprise he likes to make it known that he is older. Sometimes it sucks being the only girl, but I wouldn't change it for the world. My name is Alora. I am 14 years old and a freshmen in high school. People think that my family is perfect and that we have never had anything bad happen to us. We lost our mom over 9 years ago. I also had something bad happen to me, but I will get into more detail in the story. This book is just for fun. Time was standing annoyingly still and I think I may have forgotten how to properly breathe. "Panda you have to come sit down pacing is not going to-" pushing my hand out I stopped him from saying anything. I stopped him from confirming the knowledge that there is nothing I can do to make this better. I pulled at my hair ripping a couple of strands out in the process. I hated the white walls and fluorescent lights that adorned this place. The squeaky sound that could be heard whenever anyone walked and right now I was causing a lot of squeaking. The strong smell of disinfectant burning my nose but none of it matter right now not any of it. "Where is he?" I heard the voice and my blood immediately started to boil. "You did this" was the last thing I said before I flew and was on top of his mom hitting her wildly. So much for not liking confrontation.

They were motioning for me to hold on. "Of course I'm okay, Nefeli. What happened?" I asked, my heart tightening. I hated seeing her like this, so worried and panicked. "I-I heard Alex and Aiden talking in Italian!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic. "They said something about the Mafia! Are we being threatened by the Mafia?" Her voice cracked, and tears threatened to spill from her brown eyes. The room fell silent for a moment. My brothers exchanged looks, and then, without warning, we all burst into laughter. Nefeli stared at us, completely confused. Cole, finally calming down, wiped his eyes and looked at her with a smile. "Love" he said, his voice smooth, "we're not being threatened by the Mafia." he let the words settle in the air for a second.
