Three years have gone by since the death of Johnathan Morganstern aka Sebastian. The Mortal War, although done physically, Jace and Clary and still going through it mentally with all the death that was involved. 

But even more important things are now here; their baby. 

But nothing comes without a price. The feeling of being watched is at every corner for Jace so becoming over protective of Clary (even if he doesn't show it) is harming their relationship, even when he's pulling away...  

Moving from Italy back to New York is also causing more problems when the Lightwoods and Magnus find out the reason for Jace' sudden departure from his wife. 

And things start to get more confusing. More demon attacks and more things wrong with the baby.
