Hi readers. So this is my attempt at getting involved in the 2019 Wattpad Open Novella Contest. It's a complete break from my usual genres and not one of the easiest to write. I will also be posting up my chapters as I complete them, which is nerve wracking for me because I usually like to rewrite and rework everything before I post it! So this is way more interactive and I hope that you guys will enjoy it!

I was never meant to leave that room. I had spent my whole life in there, imagining what it was like on the outside. I looked forward to the day when I would finally be allowed to leave. But that day was never supposed to come. Until James decided to keep his promise. He had always been there, on the other side of the glass. Waiting. The experiment wasn't over. He was still waiting for me to change. But I didn't change. Not until that night. It was dark, and there was rain. The sound of the car engine was loud, but the crash was louder. I have an external link at the bottom of most of the chapters that leads to a Google Doc that explains the world. Please let me know if it works. Since Wattpad has an age of consent in their guidelines, I will have the explicit scenes on AO3 and not on here. If scenes like that make you uncomfortable, this will be the version without any of that. If you're curious, I don't use any of the more graphic words, this kind of thing makes me a bit uncomfortable so I wrote it in a way that didn't make me feel weird.
