The Runaway

High Schooler Laura Sanders faces life as best she can. Her father left her mother at age two and hasn't been back since. Laura's transferred to several different schools due to her past actions and her mother. Years ago, Laura was caught stealing from a store, assuming no one would catch her, or so she thought. Nowadays she regrets her actions and it haunts her. Later that year, Laura and her mom move to New York City to begin her high school years at the New York Arts Academy (NYAA). Laura's current and only friend there is Samantha Goodwind. Sam has always been there for her since they've met. Although Laura believes New York gives her a fresh start, he fellow classmates make her an outsider to society. Her mother on the other hand becomes abusive and more upset with Laura most days. One day, Laura goes to downtown New York and is then taken by a man whom she questions throughout her journey. She comes home abused and now knowing that the man who raped her is now watching everything she does, after being threaten to be killed if word got out or if he ever got to her again. After being hit and fed up with her mom, she flees the house and runs away. Her life is at stake, knowing someone was after her and the police on the look out for her.
