Diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 25, I kept a journal through surgery and treatment, wrote humorous (or just uncomfortable) short stories and irreverent poems about my experiences. I'm not going to pretend that I have amazing words of wisdom about dealing with the deadly disease. This is a raw, unreserved look at dealing with some real shit in a funny way.

A mind that can easily be conquered, the truest victim of pain. Despite this, it will continue to provide. It will sustain and ease. Always. For Darryl, it had been a struggle, separating the cruelty of life from his temple, his haven, his sanity. The burdens kept piling on and on, it felt as if there's no one else to turn to. An oblivious teen, an oblivious mind. He is, without a doubt, as desperate for change as they come. Though the road towards wisdom seems treacherous, his heart and mind shall unite, and together they shall guide Darryl to a pleasurable, if not enlightening, path. And once they do, not only will Darryl feel the significant change in his nightly life, he won't even know whether or not it had already started. *A Wattys Shorts entry*
