When Brian runs across the stage of the Long Beach Arena after Avenged Sevenfolds set at the Taste of Chaos tour, he only expected to grab something and run straight back off again. But instead, he finds something more than he bargained for - Emery-Jane. He and the guys take her back to their tour bus, thinking they'll just look after her till she wakes and can get home okay, but they discover her skin and the book in her pocket contain 17 years worth of secrets. Before they know it, they're all dragged into her dark past as they fight to get her free from it and into the Avenged family. Along the way, they discover more about themselves, each other and their limits, they fall in love, have their hearts broken, and get lost, all while helping and watching Emery grow and gain her strength back.
