Hayley Rhode thinks she's left the Shadow World and the vigilante work that she did under the anonymity of a computer screen behind her for good.

Under a new name, she's graduated from university, and successfully kept herself under the radar for the past five years. But a summer holiday in Russia turns that around.

A train ride gone wrong and she's a key suspect for the murder of her best friend's fiancé, and is being chased by MI6 and CIA officers working under an initiative called Bonfire, for a journal she was given by a strange man.

But the journal brings more questions than answers, and a rising syndicate called the Umbras will do anything to destroy it before it can be used to destroy them. With time running out and the stakes internationally high, more than one life is on the line.
