"Oh, how she had longed to stretch her wings and soar amongst the clouds once more, not a sound to be heard but the roar of savage wind against her skull."

This is an original fantasy epic (a really long poem) revolving around a previously caged and mistreated crow who travels to her homelands in the north, fleeing the colony of black-skinned captors who believe her kind could grant any wish. Many suncycles later, a child who saw her ascent to the northern smokey hills and holds it as a treasured memory makes the journey to find the freed bird who may, perhaps, fulfill a wish of her own.

Queen Sahara of the SandWings paced anxiously in her opulent palace, the scorching heat of the desert sun beating down on the golden dunes outside. As the ruler of her mighty kingdom, she had grown accustomed to the solitude and tranquility of her desert oasis. However, on this particular day, her serene existence was about to be shattered. In the midst of her thoughts, Blaze, one of her trusted servants, burst into the grand hall, his wings flared with urgency. "Your Majesty! The SandWing army has captured a royal SeaWing!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and confusion. Sahara's black eyes narrowed as she studied Blaze's nervous expression. "Who is it?" she questioned, her voice laced with curiosity and concern. Though the SandWings were fierce and proud, they seldom ventured beyond their desert borders, let alone captured dragons from other tribes. Blaze struggled to catch her breath, her scales shimmering with perspiration. Baffled, Queen Sahara contemplated Blaze's words. SeaWings, known for their mastery over the ocean depths, were not creatures to be easily captured. Yet here was a seemingly important SeaWing caught in the clutches of her warriors. She needed to see this for herself. Without wasting a moment, Blaze nodded and darted towards the massive stronghold doors. Queen Sahara followed closely behind, her heart pounding with a mix of anticipation and apprehension. As they neared the stronghold, the rumbling echoes of distant voices filled the desert air. The stronghold, a formidable fortress made from hardened sandstone, loomed before them. With Blaze leading the way, Queen Sahara stepped into the dimly lit chamber, her eyes adjusting to the limited light. What she saw before her left her utterly stunned. In the center of the room, surrounded by her warriors, stood a magnificent SeaWing, his scales shimmering with iridescent blues and greens. Despite the evident signs of struggle, he appeared poised and noble, a true king.

A collection of deliciously, dark poems. #3 in Poetry - 9/6/18 I hope you enjoy and any time taken to read, is greatly appreciated and if you wanted to hit the little vote button or comment, you will have my eternal gratitude. H x The main theme of this book is the macabre and horror. Some of the poems are inspired by horror movies that carry an age 15 rating. There are also some poems touching upon anxiety issues. If you feel you would be upset by reading anything of this nature, then I would advise that this collection may not be for you. Although, for others, it may be of interest, to see another persons experience of this. I will leave the choice up to you. Whilst there is nothing particularly graphic in here, there are scary themes and also some darker themes. There are also some scary images along with the horror themed poems.
