"Please," the Sower gasped, his eyes darting to the ghastly charred remains of his men. "I- We didn't mean-" Thane didn't let him finish. With a surge of heat, the flames flared from his body, engulfing the man in a swirling inferno. The Sower screamed, his cries echoing through the clearing as the fire consumed him, but it didn't end his life-not yet. Thane controlled the flames, letting them torture rather than kill, a terrifying display of his power and restraint. "Didn't mean to?" Thane echoed mockingly, leaning down so his face was inches from the Sower. His eyes burned with rage, dark and unrelenting. "You meant every word, every threat, every action. And now you'll burn for it." ******************** In a world torn by war, where men and women are divided into separate kingdoms, Fern, a healer and herbalist, sets out to end the decade-long conflict. Basil's story went to Strixhaven and Alfur ended up as an NPC in a separate story. Categorically, I suppose it's some sort of Critical Role universe fanfiction, however the lore is based off of how my friend runs her Wildemount campaign and not the show.

Nylein Wynters and her master, Frolyn Everwhist, are the very last two of their kind. They are the very last people to wield magic. The very last Sorcerers. The Wolves from all around the world have wiped the Sorcerers out, their intent to make them extinct. Frolyn found Nylein when she was only a toddler, slashed and bloodied from when her and her parents were attacked. Frolyn took her under his wing and raised her as his own, since he had lost his own family from an attack. He wears the scars of the battle proudly and chooses to not use an enchantment to cover them. During the years of raising Nylein, he has made her his apprentice in the ways of Sorcery. They have had many close encounters with the Wolves. They are constantly on the run to avoid the possibility of death and the extinction of their kind. And one factor has Frolyn running even more and even faster to save and protect his apprentice. It's a factor none of them even saw coming. (Completed)
