Valerie only knows one home.
The laboratory she's been confined in since she was thirteen. Or, so she may find out has been protecting her from the outside.
Her only memory's consist of the the dingy, dark room she hides away in and the empty echoes of the steel
Reinforced walls.

And then one day, she meets Lucas Cain: The blue eyed boy, who peeks at her throughout the knothole connecting their cells from time to time; telling her stories of life on the outside.

Eager to escape, Lucas decides to bring his new accomplice along, promising to give her a life she's longed for so long.

During their mission to escape the heavily patrolled Laboratory, Valerie runs into her green- eyed hero, JC. A closed off, shady boy, who wants nothing to do with the curious, yellow eyed girl who asks to many questions.
He's determined to stay away, to keep closed off.

The real world isn't what Valerie had hoped, different from the stories she's read in her confined jail cell.

It's not what she'd hoped for at all.

Will She be able to handle the truth of a corrupted government, of a community destroyed by the new social stereotypes of the new world?

Can she finally find the hope and love she's always yearned for?
