This book talks about the lack of people of colour in our textbooks, learning resources, and educational facilities. This is an educational book will highlight the misconceptions of what a good education is and will hopefully create a wave of change in our educational resources particularly textbooks.
As a child in a classroom, my first feeling was of alienation. My first identity was of an outsider. My first taste was the sourness of marginalisation. My first glance at the world was of an excluding intellectual circle. My first sound was of an explosion of questions about my roots and culture. My first thoughts were of being dominated by someone stronger than me. That someone turns out to be a system. Our educational system in Europe, Australasia and the Americas. At this point, I've seen so many old white guys' work in my classes that it's a safe assumption that whoever did this work I'm studying was an old white guy. I hate that I make that assumption. I hate that I don't hear about the rich, fullness of other cultures and the wonderful, WONDERFUL work they have done. Given that whites make up a minority of the world, they are the majority of people I have learned about in school. This is not limited to the topic of English, science and mathematics, but does include white people's history, geographical countries. Whites are not the only civilized thinkers of the world, and definitely not the only ones to work in our intellectual circles. Even when you bring up the work of a person of colour (POC) or woman, a bio is never mentioned.

""Kitten, you're worried about something, and you cannae lie. You're picking at your hands and looking around to clean up my room. Unlucky for you, my room is very clean," he said, "Now what are you worrying about so much?" I stopped picking at my cuticles. It was kind of weird that he could see me doing something and read me like a book before I could even realize I was doing it. I felt my heart pound in my chest. "Well, it's just this whole pretending to date you thing," I shrugged, "How far do we have to take it? Do we have to do it in front of our friends? Do we have to do it in public because obviously we ran into Olivia today and we weren't planning on it. Oh shit, what if she sees you with another girl? I mean, what would happen then? What if she sees me talking to another guy? How long is this going to go on? What if we have to kiss in front of Olivia? I mean, it's not that I don't want to kiss you but--" I rambled on nervously. Iain smirked and walked towards me, and the next thing I knew, his lips were on mine, and we were kissing." When Kit's older brother, Ben, finally makes it with the girl he's been crushing on for four years, only to find out she's wary of family, he lies and calls his baby sister his best friend's girlfriend, turning everyone's life upside down. While Kit's struggling with the impending doom of college and parents that could divorce at any second, she's also juggling a fake relationship with her brother's hot best friend, Iain. As if that weren't complicated enough, a chemistry sparks between Iain, igniting flames and destroying the crumbling world around them. RATED M for drug and alcohol use and sexual themes

WARNING: CONTAINING AMOUNTS OF SASS PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO MANKIND In the city of NYC--- Ok. Hold up. First of all, New York City. What, are ya gonna assume everyone here knows what NYC is? Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

Preview: "I am so, so sorry. I did not realize..." "You break my laptop! I need this thing to teach my first seminar for today. And thanks to you I am already later than late!" "Hey, to be fair I apologized. In addition, you did not exactly paid attention to where you are going either! You were on your phone the whole time too, so stop trying to play the victim here!" "I was just trying to find this one room that I was supposed to be teaching in. so if you don't have anything else to say right now, I think you should move out of the way and let me pass." Hearing his response, Arianna was beyond pissed. With disbelieve and mentally cursing the SOB, she replied, "Oh if you think you are the only important being mister teaching assistant. You are dead wrong. See, I am not afraid of you. Here is my phone number in case that laptop of yours is badly damaged and you need the money to fix it. Have a good day, I hope I would have the privilege of not seeing your face ever again." Arianna moved pass the Greek god and head to the room. She arrived there quite on time since her teaching assistant was not there yet. She decided to take some deep breath in the meantime before the teaching assistant arrives. 20 minutes passed and everyone getting impatient and starting to think the seminar was cancelled. When people starting to get up to leave, the door swings open and a deep baritone voice said, "Sorry I was late class, I broke my laptop this morning so I have to get it fixed..." and he looked at me and said, "You". Holy mother of cows. With that one word, Arianna froze in place. Just her luck, that baritone voice belongs to the man that ran her over this morning.

AN- Hi, this is only half of the book, the rest of this books on my other profile @emmadunn98 and it's the same name and front cover as it is on here as well! Thanks for looking at this page, hope you give my book a go I really appreciate it! Xx My names Clara. I'm just a 15, nearly 16 year old girl from England; rainy, cold England. I'm not pretty or the perfect weight or have the nicest things, even though many people would think I did with my dad owning his own business. I've got some problems at home and my sisters pretty dependent on me, but what can I do, other than take it all in my stride? But I'm just me, with some added attitude. So why did the new hot teacher come for me? I'm Scott Myer, just out of uni and got a brand new job. Hopefully this job will keep me straight headed so I can have back the only thing I want from back home. I've started today and already I'm falling back into my old ways, hopefully teaching in the new school can keep me on track for once... So why when I see my tutor class for morning registration, do I see one girl, that I can't seem to get out of my head? And why do I keep coming for her? This is my first book so you might see a few mistakes, but I do try to go over my work as best as possible. Contains mature content, so if your under 16 I suggest u give this one a miss, unless your okay with that sort of thing. I do put a warning at the beginning of the chapter and I put a small warning just before it starts for those that don't like the sexual parts, but want to read the rest of the story! Xx

How is it that the girl with straight As ends up scrubbing floors for minimum wage, living in a room above Vera's Hairstyling, in a god-forsaken town called Powassan? Feminist theorist Dale Spender wrote, in Women of Ideas and What Men Have Done to Them, "We need to know how patriarchy works. We need to know how women disappear...." Although Spender spoke of women who disappear from the historical record, women all too often seem to disappear from any sort of public life as soon as they leave high school: so many shine there, but once they graduate, they become invisible. Where are all the straight-A girls from high school? Why, how, have they 'disappeared'? Marriage and kids is an inadequate answer because married-with-kids straight-A boys (of which, let's acknowledge, there are fewer) are visible. Everywhere. Even the straight-B boys are out there. So what happens? This is what happens provides several answers as it traces this disappearance with a microscopic examination of one woman's life. There are three voices juxtaposed throughout the novel: the fresh, impassioned protagonist speaking through her journal entries from the age of fifteen; the sarcastic, now-fifty protagonist commenting about the events of her life, occasionally speaking to her younger self; and the dispassionate narrator. The novel's audience is primarily women-it will resonate most with older women, but it is younger women who most need to read it. Because this is what happens. This book conveys philosophy and values for modern issues that undermine today's generation world and their inner voices atmosphere, combined with spices of solitude, cognitions and emotions from a young man that he tries to communicate regarding all its aftermaths and possibilities. Including compendium about daily basis and collisions that he saw through many eyes and theatrical society, which he hopes can become a good reference for those who seek a place for serenity and assessment in a world where life requires everyone to find common sense and confine many voices of speculation. Each chapter in this book possesses a small fraction about his life, which leads to one question...what kind of person he is?. Why is "Talking Serenity" worth reading? 1. Ins and outs of the Modern World's Atmosphere The male character/figure that is told in this writing has a lifestyle background that likes to be alone (Introvert), who loves to observe human relations and tends to be traditional in establishing closeness with other people in his modern world. However, as time progressed, what he had inside of him slowly became worry and indecision in the eyes of many people. The increasing inner confusion of his generation that surrounds his steps in the modern world, of course, is not something that is easily ignored by him as a human being who still acquires traditional values in his soul. 2. Nurturing Culture This writing attaches various possibilities and probabilities to an event in the future when the generation of humans who reign/control today's world do not have good competence, cognition and emotional stability in setting boundaries, respecting and appreciating. The presence of traumatic personal experiences and several clauses related to culture that have been passed down from previous generations, of course, can support the importance of discussing this theme.

Hi there, I'm JD, a 31-year-old Venezuelan-Spanish Economist living in Barcelona with my Russian (pro-peace) wife Anna and our two kittens; we met in Italy eight years ago, and almost since then we have been working on this project. During our careers we've worked with people from South America to Japan, from Australia to Canada, from South Africa to Norway, the characters in the novel are based on people I was lucky enough to meet along the way who left me with invaluable lessons which we feel the duty and privilege of sharing with our fellow humans, hopefully sharing what cosmologists call "Space Bias". There are seven main protagonists each one with their own chapter - which can be read in whichever order you prefer, - two of them in present tense and the rest in past, it's all part of the story. They all have mixed backgrounds such as a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother, a survivor of the Rwanda massacre, a Colombian with Lebanese and Portuguese ancestry, a Danish whose mother is German, a Jewish lady married to a Muslim man she met in Jerusalem, an Anglo-Indian guy inspired in a way in Orwell - character name is Arthur such as Orwell's real name, - and last but definitely not least a Turkish Muslim bisexual woman for which a Lebanese friend for work is providing help; my friend is working on her Ph.D. on gender inequality in politics, especially in countries with religious civil wars that have moved from the streets to parliament. The story's Universe - 7 trillion light-years, approximately 78 times the size of our observable universe and 252 times the size of a Hubble sphere - provides more than enough civilizations to present dystopias that can serve as warnings for the future - ideally in the style of 1984, A Brave New World, or Fahrenheit 451, - as well as utopias where we find A.E.I - Artificial Emotional Intelligence - along with futuristic ways of understanding childhood, education, and life itself.
