As a crushing defeat looms over the horizon, Gaius Octavian desperately organizes his defenses. The Canim- large, bipedal wolves- have invaded the Western coast of Alera, seizing the city of Elincarch before sweeping across its hills and plains with deadly speed. The Canim had assaulted the Alerans with unexpected ruthlessness, unraveling the defender's campaign and forcing a retreat across the front. Outmanned and outmaneuvered, Tavi uses his tricks and cunning to keep his unit, the First Aleran Legion, from collapsing outright as the Canim gain ground. Their certain victory slips from their grasp, however, when an uninvited third party places themselves in the middle of the deadly conflict. In an instant, the Canim momentum is shattered, and Tavi seeks the help of the sudden arrival vast armies in finishing off the Canim. Instead of hope, Tavi finds an even more dangerous enemy that threatens the entire world, one that Tavi had hoped would never return.

The year is 20XX. Earth's advancement in technology has allowed it to expand to the far reaches of space. Humans have moved to the many 'colonies' surrounding it. New species and races have appeared. New energy sources have been found reducing the value of fossil fuels. It was supposed to be a time of peace, but chaos loomed in the faces of many. The world was in the midst of a tremendous crisis. The appearance of new superpower nations had caused an outbreak of war that spanned 20 years. These new countries and its allies were know and feared as "The Order'. They were ruthless and wanted to control the world's energy supplies, destroying any nation that stood in their way. But all was not lost. The remaining nations banded together to stop The Order. They formed 'The International Military (I.M) and fought against The Order. Many battles were fought and many lives were lost. After 20 years The Order seemed to be gaining an upper hand as the older generation of I.M soldiers slowly faded away from the battlefield. It looked as though all hope was lost for the world. But hope came in the new generation of I.M soldiers that appeared, pushing the Order back. Amongst them there is a team that have been a major turning point in the war. Their name is Taskforce 666. Australia was once a country with Carnivores and Herbivores coexisting with the Omnivores. Humans, considered class Omnivores, came out with a strange pathogen. During the first week, humans were infected with a virus showing cannibalistic behaviour only to their own species. Biting. Eating the flesh of ones own species. Violent behaviour. It baffled scientists at it's cause, wondering what it is. Animals however, were invisible to the infected Omnivores. Humans were ignoring the Herbivores and Carnivores. Until, they too got infected. Somehow they did. Whatever caused it, they can see both human and animal as their prey. Even if their prey are carnivores. The army lost control within the first month. Airports shut down in areas nearby, while flights didn't dare to go back to Australia. No other country was willing to take Refugees. But one showed compassion and opened it's doors. The year is 2020. Eight years have passed since the Retrovirus spread across the earth and ravaged human society. The lucky ones died horrific deaths.
