A lonely girl named Moralice Sinders lives with her younger brother, Collin, and her parents. Her family is pretty rich, but she feels her life isn't. Frequently, Moralice hears mysterious noises at night. She doesn't know what it is or how they're caused. She thinks she's just hearing things until her mother claims she hears them, too, one day.
