James Robert Ferguson's got problems just like any other central-Ohio teenager. He's barely passing Bio, his dad is itching for him to get a girlfriend when he'd really rather not, and he keeps finding reminders of his dead mother everywhere. So, finding a new friend in the weird lanky kid from his math class, Chance McBride, is a breath of fresh air.

But since the world wasn't built with JR in mind, he discovers that Chance is a rogue demon, roaming around on Earth for the thrill of it, and that he's in huge trouble.

Now, they've both got a lot more problems to deal with, like how Chance is being tracked down by Hell and Heaven's finest, and how a whole host of nasty creatures seem to want a taste of him before he's taken back below deck.
