The earthquake trapped Jacey and Blain in the basement of their high school, nearly killing them. When they woke, the world was different, covered in ice and just as hard and cold and their school was in shambles.

Jacey had never had the best relationship with Blain, it was like the school after the quake, dark and unpleasant. Unfortunately, he seemed to be the only one left around and she would need him too, they would need each other. Especially when the 'laughter' starts.
