What would you do if the only friend you ever had left you one day, in the blink of an eye? What would you do if they made you a promise that all your dreams would come true, but left before you were old enough to do anything about it? What would you do if all their dreams came true, all while you were stuck in a dead end town with no possible way of escape? Demi was just a normal, small town girl from Tupelo, Mississippi. When she was just 9 years old, her best friend left her to move to Memphis, Tennessee. 10 years later, he was the biggest thing in rock and roll. And she was stuck in her new home of Dallas, Texas, with nothing but her dreams and a few friends to keep her hopeful and happy. Elvis Presley never imagined he would be as big a star as he became. But he was never able to enjoy his immense popularity and success, because he'd always felt a part of him was missing. And when he returned to his birthplace of Tupelo, Mississippi in 1956, he was told she'd be there, waiting to see him. But, sadly, he found she'd moved on a long time ago. For years Elvis wondered what had happened to the sweet little girl he grew up with, the one he truly left behind. Then, in the spring of 1960, upon returning home after a two year stint in the army, Elvis received a letter that would help answer every question he'd been asking for near enough the past decade.
