The Divine King of Crane has just ascended the throne. But unbeknownst to him, he has made more enemies than his life's worth. 

In the borders of the Capital, Arcane City, the life of a young tomb maiden is upended. Her family murdered, her person prisoner, and her sister taken hostage, Irene Methuselah refuses to give in to the demands of her Guild-Master Father's disturbing ideals. Until, he negotiates with her: Her and her sister's freedom, in exchange for the King's head. 

Irene is hesitant.  Killing the Divine King is a sin as old as time. But she cannot lose another of her blood relatives to the foolishness of men. Now she must set out to the Castle and infiltrate its floors to find and kill the King. 

But one can't always walk a straight line. Already a confusing job becomes worse when she grows a conscience and kidnaps the King instead. What happens is a journey unlike any other putting her world and the realm of darkness at the verge of destruction...
