Rowan is your normal day-to-day teenager. She suffers from bad hair days, a hate for sports and worries about the prom. So, what’s so different about her? She dreams.

Rowan dreams of a girl named Genevieve whose life seems anything but great; she is after all a Jew trying to survive through the holocaust. So when she falls for an undeniably handsome Nazi soldier with pretty brown eyes, while staying in a concentration camp she can’t help but believe there may be hope.
Genevieve manages to conceal her relationship for a while but will it all crumble and burn?

Meanwhile Rowan meets a gypsy boy with familiar brown eyes who she’s supposed to hate because everyone in her town does but she’s never been one to follow a crowd. As she continues to see this boy in secret, her feelings for him grow deeper but their relationship seems to be moving way too fast. Plus, Rowan can’t seem to forget that her life seems to be becoming eerily similar to Genevieve’s.

Rowan’s never been superstitious, but now as things seem to be going downhill, she’s determined to find how Genevieve and her brown eyed loves story ends before tragedy strikes in her own life. Can she re-write her own story or is her fate already set in stone.
