In many fanfictions, reader insert or otherwise, OC's or reader characters are always adept at nearly everything. But haven't you ever wondered would would really happen if you, or any other ordinary human dropped in to Middle Earth? I know it's fun to pretend to be the hero, to be impressively gifted, because how else could you win the heart of Prince Charming? Well, what if just you could be enough. This is a story with a message very alike the message of the original Hobbit book, and even The Lord of the Rings. This is a story about how an ordinary person can be extraordinary.
(Occasional profanity and some violence.)
I occasionally go back into previous chapters and edit things to fit the future plot, so if something isn't adding up I probably changed it in an earlier chapter.

"You need to know something," said Fili, taking her face in his large warm hands. "You will always have me. Even if the Valar take you away tomorrow, I will always be your brother. I want you. I'm going to fight Thorin for you, but even if I lose, you are always my sister. I would sooner stop being a dwarf than stop being your brother." Can exploring caves land you in a hobbit's pantry? It happened to Sara Miller. Taken from the 21st century, she must navigate through middle-earth to find a way back home. But to do so she will have to understand why the Valar have sent her in the first place, something even Gandalf does not know. All Sara wants to do is return home so she can resume the search for her family but now she is stuck going on this insane quest. Why are wizard's so capricious? Thorin has first hand expearance with one, namely Gandalf. Thorin is determined to reclame his home in Erebor for his people and was even prepared to accept a hobbit on the quest. But now Gandalf insists that if he wants his help he must allow a woman from another world into his company as well. But just because the wizard brings her along doesn't mean Thorin has to play nice. So I moved the chapters here so that I would be able to finish the story. The story itself is about the Company who are still at Rivendell. Gandalf gets fed up with a lot of the dwarves and changes them into babies. The years between fire and darkness
This is set post-Smaug and before the dwarves resettle in the Blue Mountains. It describe the years in the life of Thorin Oakenshield between those two events. It is a story of love, lust and adversity. It is also my very first fanfiction with plot. It took me months to write it, so please; be gentle! First of all, I would like the thank my beta-reader and mentor Lady Anne, for all her help and support. Specials thanks to Lady Oakenshield who was kind enough to do a second read for mistakes and typos. Hopefully, they are all gone now! Please note, that I am NOT a Tolkien expert. I did check the Simarilion a couple of times to make sure that what I was writing made sense, but it is possible that some details might not fit in. Bilba and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Modern AU Crack/Humor/Fluff - Bilba and Thorin get into a fight and, as they are both prideful and stubborn, neither one can quite bring themselves to simply admit to their part and apologize. Bilba finally has enough of the stalemate and decides the most brilliant and epic solution ever would be to kidnap Thorin and lock him in the basement until he gives in, admits it was all his fault and begs for her forgiveness . It's possible she might have been a WEE bit drunk when she came up with, and executed, this plan. Of course now that she's done it she can't back down. That would be like admitting Thorin was right...somehow. She's not quite as firm on that point but what IS clear is Thorin looks far to smug for a kidnap victim which means she is certainly not admitting her plan was not the most epic and well thought out plan in the history of epic and well thought out plans. Even when she realizes Frerin might have been a witness meaning she has to kidnap him too...and Dwalin shows up acting all suspicious so of COURSE she has to kidnap him........ There just MAY have been one...or two TINY flaws in her plan after all but that doesn't mean it wasn't still epic! Thorin will rue the day he crossed her!Complete
