A perfect life, one that lacks poverty, disease, war and even death, that is what we were told we have at least. My name is Sam Thomas and this is my story, the year is 2148. 100 years ago the last war ended, this war was the tipping point to the world powers realizing the pettiness of war and signed the agreement that resulted in the Utopian civilization we now live in, or so I thought.

2145 Long, long ago, humanity had reached it's peak in peace and prosperity. The sad thing was that there was still war and starvation. Overpopulation took it's toll, taking away room and a surplus of food. The world continued to die until 100 years ago, when Governer Zackly's great grandfather had come up with an idea. What if we could halve the earth's population? What if, within a region, the strong will rise, one by one, to create a better, more efficient society. This was Zackley's vision. However, every vision of change comes with bloodshed. The only way for the strong to emerge is if they eliminate the weak. And that is exactly what today's society is based upon. I am Bertolt Hoover.
