Step into the life of sixteen year old Shaylyn James. The abusive, alcoholic, unloving world is all she has ever known and what she dreads for her six year old  twin siblings Aubrie and Adam. Journey with her as she experiences the pain, loss, and breakdowns of living with her mother, dealing with the harassment from a boss that continues to use her at work, stress from the people at school for not being socially acceptable for being emo, the disgusting attitude of a the school's newest man whore who continuously plays with her emotions, a social worker who is on the hunt for Shaylyn and her siblings, and the comfort that she can only find and cherish with her small group of friends. With the last shred of hope she has to try to raise her younger brother and sister, juggle the payments of supporting a house, and taking on all the responsibilities of a mother only at the age of sixteen, watch as Shaylyn's life is thrown in all different directions and her grip on it loosen and loosen until finally it all comes crashing down.
