When Janine is granted the position as gym leader of Fuchsia City in the place of her father, she knows that it's the chance she's been needing to prove herself as a formidable trainer--not just an underling of her renowned dad. But when she finds that the responsibility is too much for her to bear as her reputation crumbles, an unlikely ally steps in--seeking help for their own needs in exchange for providing her's. Suddenly, she becomes one of the most admired figures throughout the region, though she learns that the incomprehensible popularity comes with a cost: a target of others' ongoing lust for power.
    
            Determined to protect what little she has left, she's willing to risk her life to fulfill the promise of her newfound friend--no matter the cost. Though, there's poison and corruption spreading throughout the gym; rumors that can't be quenched. 
    
            Undeniably, someone's gunning for her throne. 
    
            But she's not willing to give up with everything at stake for her to loose. Plunged into a world of conspiracies and traitors lurking around the corner, anything is possible, and nothing isn't.
