When the screaming started I knew it was just a drill but when the lights went out I got a bit worried. As the emergency lights came on I felt people run around me. I could barely hear myself think over all the noise. I walk calmly over and leave the room and into my own, not bothering to close the door, then wondered why people freak out when this happens. It happens so often. The underground base was getting louder as zombies flooded the room.

This isn't a drill.

Pushing off the sink in irritation, I turn to leave but he grabs my bare upper arm. My blood boils in annoyance while my skin tingles with excitement. He perks a brow, obviously sensing it. "Your aura is in disarray," he states bleakly. "Yeah, no shit Sherlock." My Earthly phrase earns me a tilt of his head and I scoff. "Where have you been, Beta?" "On a mission in the Xin Galaxy." "Okay? Would it not be wise to inform your OA of any missions that require your departure? Let go." I pull against his grip and he reluctantly lets go. "Yes, however, this mission did not require your presence nor your opinion," he replies candidly. My eye twitches and wordlessly, I turn away once more but his grip on my arm returns, this time more gentle, as if pleading rather than restraining. "I only meant that this mission did not require you to accompany me as my OA in pretence. It's safer to stay with your younglings out of sight anytime the role is not needed," his voice softer. "You disappeared after you..." I pause and shake my head. I feel embarrassed to say it out loud to him. I feel embarrassed at how much it affected me. Then he jumped out of no where right in front of us. "Stand up!" He yelled and we just sat there frozen in fear because all we brought with us was knives and he was pointing a gun at us. "I said stand up!" He yelled and we stood up. "Grab em boys." He said and two other guys walked up beside him.

As she swung her axe right over my head , hitting another zombie square in the head, sending a spray of blood all over the back of me. "We have to jump!" i screamed at everyone at the top of my lungs, i looked around to find at least 75% of our group either eaten or eating some one else. i knew i was being too slow in making my decisions, but all i could concentrate on was the sound of my heart beating in my chest. i pulled nicol to the floor and away from the zombie that nearly chewed off her head and watched her send a knife into its head with what seemed no effort at all. Then i turned and moved quicker than i have before to stop the zombie that i saw coming for me from the corner of my eye, i stopped dead in my tracks as my heart sank into the bloody stream of my circulation of life.
