"What is that?" He stared at the white flower that she held in her hands. He'd seen it before pressed neatly into the pages of one of her journals.

"This is a gardenia flower" She replied before turning to face him.

"It's a symbol of trust and protection. But it's got a special meaning from me to you..." She tucked the flower into his uniform's breast pocket, right above his heart. He stared at her as she fixed his flower in place. Her eyes met his.

"It means..." His breath hitched. There it was again. That smile that he swore made time stop. The one that reminded him that she was truly everything good in his world.

She raised her hand up to caress his cheek and he leaned into the touch, savoring the warmth of her hand. It felt like home. His home.

"No matter what happens, I'll always find my way back to you."
