(I suck at summaries) The world is come to a depressing state and people are being segregated by intelligence during this time. A young girl who is well known for being the first EOEON child, grows up around her friends and family who despise the thought of having any type of interaction with an EH (extra help). Across the world is a boy who is mixed with both an extra help and a intellegent parent. He is relocated to an area to learn the ways of being an Eoeon and become smarter. Back at the girls house, she runs away from her arranged marriage when no one seems to understand her distress. She runs to the boy who is mixed and she explains to him why she's running away and that he shouldn't turn her in. he understands and tells her his life. Together they decide to run away from the cruel world and be free. Things don't go as planned and tragedy strikes them ahead.
