"Maywood Hill isn't an ordinary school. It is a school for mentally ill teenage girls. It's at least a thousand years old and resembles more of a haunted hospital, than, in fact, a school. That's where they shipped me off after my 'accident' as they like to call it. However it was no accident at all."

Sixteen year old Addie struggles through several mental illnesses. And after a suicide attempt, is forced to pack her bags for Maywood Hill.

Recovering isn't at all easy when she refuses to talk to any of the school therapists or participate in weekly group therapy sessions.

And there is one more thing, Addie's roommate Annabelle.
