Set in a pseudo-Victorian dystopian future were steam power is once again the norm and great mechanical clockwork men rule harshly over the working classes. Cristobel is a troubled woman seeking to find relief from her tortured mind. When she is late for work she notices that something is different. Something has interrupted the clockwork operations of the city, and Cristobel seems to be at the centre of it.
This is the first two chapters of a novel I submitted as my dissertation for my MA in creative writing. This part seems to have gone well but then it just all went down hill. Not sure whether to keep this as a short story or whether to attempt it again as a novel. Comments/suggestions welcome. Enjoy!

Some pretty dark scenes are going to happen or be alluded to, so here's your main warning. I'll try to warm ahead of chapters I feel may be particularly dark, but just know it's a darker tone over all (and also mature language). As usual, if you see any mistakes, please let me know! Editing is never 100% full proof, so I appreciate the help (sometimes my fingers/brain don't communicate well :() And don't be afraid to comment or share your opinion! Saving Leah Series Book 7 "So what do you admire most about women?" I ask the man as he sips on his coffee. He smirks as he sets his cup down, acting as if my question was some sort of joke, "Her complete submission, of course." I hum, disproving greatly of this answer as well as all the others before. "The Sex Thief" is the working title of my first novel. I am trying to express escapist ideas in an erotic way, whilst not forgetting to tell a human story woven in an intellectual plot. I have chosen realistic scenarios and driven them into a fantasy world. I expect my readers to be worker-bees who toil hard from 9 am to 8 pm on every business day of the week. I can sense that my readers are looking for a way to escape the burdens of normal life. I draw a 'Magical Door' for them through my gift of sensual imagination and take them into a world free of mundane worries. Stainburrow (Prologue)
Steampunk city with a type of regime, fantasy elements and vampires (a lot more like Alucard from Hellsing then this teen drama bullshiet) guy gets pushed into a rebellion by a pupet master like entity. Plus there is a horrific enemy with lots of gore which was inspired by monsters from deadspace. Look i am awful at powerphrasing. just read a couple of chapters (and excuse how bad the first one is, ill have to rewrite that one ;-;) and see if you like it. This now serves as a prologue to my current much larger book (Stainburrow) but it is very separate from it. It also requires a complete re-write. Should information in this conflict with something in that book than Stainburrow should be considered cannon rather than the prologue.Lengkap
