The First Order hired us to find out what the Resistance was doing. I guess they couldn't trust their own soldiers, so they turned to us. Bounty Hunters. In simple terms, we were to find a commander, a spy, tie up a few loose ends along the way, and make ourselves known to the Resistance. But even then, they wouldn't see us comin'. But, alas, you'll have to wait and see how it all ends. Who knows, it might be familiar.
